Visual Sclerotherapy

This minimally invasive treatment is ideal for surface-level spider veins. A fine needle is used to inject a solution that collapses the vein, causing it to fade from view. Visual Sclerotherapy is fast, effective, and requires little to no downtime.

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Used for deeper veins that are not visible at the surface, this procedure combines traditional sclerotherapy with ultrasound imaging for precision targeting. It’s ideal for larger varicose veins and ensures accuracy for lasting results.

Endovenous Thermal Ablation

This highly effective procedure uses laser or radiofrequency energy to close damaged veins from the inside. It’s performed under local anesthesia and is often recommended for patients with chronic venous insufficiency or large, symptomatic varicose veins.

Phlebectomy Treatment

Phlebectomy is a minor surgical procedure that removes large, bulging varicose veins through small micro-incisions. It’s often used when other treatments aren’t suitable and delivers immediate improvement in both appearance and symptoms.

Wound Care

Chronic wounds, especially those caused by poor circulation, require specialized medical attention. We provide comprehensive wound care for venous ulcers and other non-healing wounds. By addressing the underlying vascular issues and supporting the body’s healing process with compression, debridement, and advanced dressings, we help patients avoid infection and long-term complications.

miraDry®

Excessive underarm sweating or persistent odor can be difficult to manage with daily hygiene products alone. miraDry® offers a permanent, noninvasive solution by eliminating sweat and odor glands using targeted thermal energy. The result is long-term dryness and freshness, often achieved after just one session.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment

For patients experiencing axillary hyperhidrosis — excessive underarm sweating — miraDry® provides an effective alternative to antiperspirants and temporary treatments. It significantly reduces sweat production while preserving the body’s ability to cool itself naturally.

Odor Reduction

Chronic underarm odor is often caused by apocrine glands. By targeting and disabling these glands, miraDry® can reduce or eliminate odor at the source, improving comfort and confidence without the need for deodorants or sprays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Varicose veins and spider veins appear when the valves fail and allow blood to flow in the wrong direction, back toward the feet. This backward blood flow is called venous reflux, or reflux for short. The chronic pressure of blood flowing back toward the feet causes blood to pool in the veins and damages the vein valves, eventually leading to visible vein bulging. Depending on their size and depth, these may appear as varicose or spider veins.

Most people first notice the purplish, knotted appearance of the veins. In addition to their appearance, many people experience one or more of the following:

  • Pain, aching, or cramping
  • Heaviness or tiredness
  • Burning or tingling sensations
  • Swelling or throbbing
  • Tender areas around the veins

Symptoms typically progress over time, and you may develop additional varicose and spider veins. You may also experience one or more of the following complications:

  • Inflammation of the veins (phlebitis)
  • Blood clots, such as deep venous thrombosis (DVT)
  • Ankle sores or skin ulcers
  • Bleeding

Varicose veins are very common. They affect 40% of women and 25% of men. Forty percent of people of Japanese descent have varicose veins. Several risk factors may increase the likelihood of developing varicose and spider veins.

  • Gender – Women have a higher incidence of varicose vein disease due in part to female hormones and their effects on the vein walls.
  • Pregnancy – Blood volume increases during pregnancy, and hormonal effects can contribute to vein enlargement.
  • Age – Vein wall tissues lose elasticity as we age, making the valve system less effective.
  • Prolonged Standing – Jobs that involve standing for long periods can increase blood volume and pressure in the lower limbs because of gravity. Your veins must work against gravity to bring blood back to your heart, and prolonged standing can make this more difficult.
  • EVLA – Usually, one treatment has a 98% success rate at treating the underlying cause of varicose veins.
  • Sclerotherapy – This varies from person to person depending on the number and size of the veins being treated. Typically, the average person needs 2–4 treatments.
  • Phlebectomy – By using micro-incisions to extract the vein, one session will typically eliminate the visible varicose vein.

Insurance will typically cover procedures such as EVLA (endovenous laser ablation therapy) and phlebectomy as long as the following conditions are met:

A venous ultrasound shows documented venous reflux, meaning blood is flowing in the wrong direction in your leg veins, and the veins are causing symptoms.

Other procedures, including visual sclerotherapy and ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, are considered cosmetic and are generally not covered by insurance, even though they can be an important part of comprehensive vein care.

Each treatment is designed for a different type of vein problem. Sclerotherapy is commonly used for smaller spider veins and certain varicose veins, while endovenous thermal ablation closes larger problem veins from within using laser or radiofrequency energy. Phlebectomy physically removes larger, bulging varicose veins through very small incisions.

Veins that are successfully closed or removed do not typically return in the same form, but new problem veins can develop over time. Factors such as genetics, age, pregnancy, and prolonged standing can continue to affect vein health. Ongoing monitoring and follow-up care can help identify and address new concerns if they appear.
